Performance
Criteria:
- The
strategy addresses the short and long term needs of health service
management, sponsoring religious groups, and individual users of chaplaincy
services
- The
strategy is consistent with the objectives of the local service
- The
strategy is consistent with the faith, understanding and expectations
of the chaplaincy's sponsoring religious groups and the range of religious
groups represented in the local community
- The
strategy is endorsed by all officially appointed members of the chaplaincy
team, health service management and sponsoring religious groups
- The
strategy is clear, comprehensible and unambiguous
- The
strategy contains ranked priorities and assessable outputs including
requirements for financial and human resources and details of the
services to be offered
- The
strategy is capable of implementation and the targets are realistic
- The
strategy locates the chaplaincy in the life and management structure
of the health care organisation
- In appropriate
departmental structure for implementation of the strategy is identified

Implement,
monitor and review the Chaplaincy Strategy
Performance
Criteria:
- Chaplaincy
resources are deployed in accordance with the strategy
- Day
to day implementation of the strategy is monitored and adjustments
are made accordingly.
- The
strategy is monitored in the light of changes in the organisation
and/or available resources.
- The
strategy is monitored in the context of the theological reflection
of the Chaplaincy team and its
sponsoring bodies.
- Dates
and timescales for regular review of the strategy are agreed.
- Representatives
of those bodies endorsing the strategy, and an agreed and appropriate
external assessor, are invited to participate in review mechanisms.
- A new
or revised strategy is formulated as a result of the review process
