Between Lothian University Hospitals Division (LUHD) having a place of business and conducting business at any of the hospitals within LUHD. And
This document is a binding legal document between the Honorary Chaplain and the Division. The Division recognises the responsibility to promote good relations. The Division also believes that good relations are a joint responsibility and that Honorary Chaplains should know the standards that are expected of them. The Honorary Chaplain will be working with the Division for a variable number of hours on an ad-hoc basis. The number of hours worked by the Honorary Chaplain will be as agreed between the Division and *********. Security As an organisation that is open to the public 24 hours a day, the Division has to treat security very seriously. Honorary Chaplains have a responsibility to contribute to security within the Division. The Honorary Chaplain will be issued with an idenity badge, which must be worn at all times whilst on site. The Honorary Chaplain must ensure that, on his/her last working day, the identity badge is returned to the Chaplain with Managerial Responsibility. Personal Property The Division does not accept any responsibility for loss of, or damage to, personal property with the exception of property handed over and accepted by the Trust for safe custody. The Honorary Chaplain is advised to arrange appropriate insurance for the loss/damage of personal property. Insurance In the event of an injury to the Honorary Chaplain on Division premises or damage to or loss of Division property, the Honorary Chaplain will be covered under the Lothian University Hospitals Division employers' liability insurance policy or under the CNORIS scheme in the same way as any other voluntary worker is covered. Health and Safety The Division has a written statement of general policy in relation to Health and Safety. Every Honorary Chaplain is under a duty to take reasonable care of themselves and others who may be affected by their activities within the Division, and to co-operate with the Division and others in meeting statutory requirements. Additionally the Honorary Chaplain is requires to report all accidents and to use any safety equipment provided for their protection. The Honorary Chaplain will receive instructions on the action to be taken in the event of a fire. ConfidentialityThe Honorary Chaplain is under a duty of confidentiality to the Division and must not use for benefit or gain or divulge to any persons, firm or other organisations whatsoever, other than persons to whom disclosure may be made for legal reasons, any confidential information pertaining to the Division or relating to the Division's affairs or patients or dealings with which may come to the Honorary Chaplain's knowledge during the term of this contract. Expenses All expenses will be met in accordance with the Division Policy, a copy of which is available within the Department of Spiritual and Pastoral Care or by contacting the Human Resources Department. Policies and Procedures The Division has a comprehensive list of Policies and Procedures, which can be located in the department of Spiritual and Pastoral Care or by contacting your Human Resource Advisor. Line of Responsibility Whilst on site the Honorary Chaplain is responsible to the Lead Chaplain or in an out of hours situation to the Senior Nurse on duty.
