Chaplaincy Department How to call a ChaplainAdvice for ward, Critical Care and A&E staffIf you need a Chaplain for a Roman Catholic patient … If you need a Chaplain for a Church of England or Free Church patient … If you need a Chaplain for a Muslim patient … If you need a Chaplain for a Sikh patient … If you need a Chaplain for a Hindu patient … If you need a Chaplain for a Buddhist patient … If you need a Jewish contact (not a chaplain) for a patient … N.B. If a patient is dying or has recently died, ALWAYS ask the family if they would like to see someone from the patient's own denomination or faith. To ask does not offend; not to ask may deprive a patient of religious ministry which he/she would have wanted. Non-urgent messages may be left on the Chaplaincy department's answerphone, 3437. Urgent messages should never be left on the answerphone: ALWAYS phone switchboard, and ask them to page the appropriate chaplain. Thank you for your cooperation. Francis Buxton April 2003 |
